Maybe we need to do away with the line while this starts up. People seem to be interested at the moment they sign up, but then after waiting three/six/nine days, they don't want to do it. Maybe letting whoever wants to add onto it at the time do so would be better.

How about setting up a 'claim' system when a new segment goes up? Rather than having a list, let people call for next when they see what they're dealing with... or are inspired by it. Since each piece has to meld with the one before it, if you let people just create without claiming/signing up in some way you end up running the risk of having several people create pieces that can't be used because only one of them can actually take the next place.
