The Worm - Ground Work

So we're going to give the "art worm" a run. So lets start laying the ground work for it.

Here's how it works. A user will create an image with the rules below. The next person in line will start his/her image from where the previous person left it. In other words, you use the border to start your image. The "tween" has to be as close to seamless as possible.

1 - Members will sign up, so to speak, and that will serve as the order for submissions.

2 - No explicit images...Sorry guys..got to keep it clean.

3 - Image size will be 600x400. You must use the full size allowed. Images must be JPG's. File size to be determined later.

4 - Orginal works only!

5 - Your image must transition ("tween") smoothly or it will be removed from the worm

6 - If you submit out of turn you will be taken out back and flogged.

7 - Because it was asked. Yes, you can submit more than once, but only after the order starts from the beginning again. Once we hit the last name, we'll start at #1 again. You will have the option to pass your turn after the first round.

8 - Cant believe I forgot this..Turn around time....There will be a 3 day response time. If you do not submit your work within 3 days of the previous submission..you will be passed up.

Does this make sense to everyone? Lets get questions out of the way now..

Any restirctions on filesize/type? I'm sure you guys don't want to be hosting a bunch of 5 MB images here. And I ask about the type in case someone would want to use a gif and add animation.

One question that might come up later - is it one submission per artist or will you allow more than one image from people to get it up and running? (not in a row or even near each other, for that matter)

I think the bluesfear one even has mutiple submissions from some people. I'm sure we'll be able to.

Either that, or it gets to about seven images long and then we wait for another new member to become active enough to add onto it. :P

Not really a compitition..but a contribution to an ever growing project.

Should we advertise this at other forums? I know if I do, people would be interested in adding to the worm. (Maybe not becoming regular members here, but adding to the worm, yes.) What do you think? Should this stay an Infitech-only thing for now, or should we have others join in?

I disagree. I thought the idea of the worm in the first place was a way of advertising. I think we should advertise the worm to spark an interest in the forums.

I think that we should definitly keep it in-house for now. We have plenty of great artists, and it will give us time to organize and keep things straight. When it comes time to advertise we will have a great image, and we will know how to deal with the artists.
