![]() | Does anyone here know of a software that can speed up a slowed down computer like mine? We I first got the computer, of course everything was going according to plan, but as time progressed it slowed down, I think because of so many programs I have on it :upanddown Well I've deleted those unneeded programs and folders to try and free up space, but its still slow and most of the programs on it were thing that were supposed to help make it faster but didnt. |

![]() | Your computer can be acting slowly for one or more than one of a few reasons. I suggest first downloading all programs needed to protect and clean your system. If you have more then 60 % of the hard drive with your Operating system filled than i suggest trying to clean unneeded files out of there manually suck as music or movies. If you have a CDRW or DVDRW id suggest copying some of that stuff on to CDs next thing you can do to try and clean out some of those music or movie files is downloading a program like NoClone to search for duplicate music or movie files that can sometimes come m up over a period of time. You can also download programs like WebRoot Window Cleaner to regularly clean out the temp files and such that accumulate over a daily basis. Adware can also be a cause of the sudden system slowdown. Download AdAware and spybot search and destroy. Scan you r system with those and get rid of your spyware. You can also have a virus or two ... Or more. If you don't already have virus protection i suggest getting some, scanning for viruses and getting rid of them. Everyone needs either a hardware firewall, software firewall or both. Download a trial or buy Zone alarm plus or Sygate's firewall. I use Zone alarm and BitDefender plus wich combines a firewall and antivirus program in one. These are just some of the possible reasons your system is acting slowly. I strongly recommend you look into downloading those programs and cleaning out your system. I hope this helps |
