Default Simple website templates...

In another thread, in the SEO section here I believe, I posted about the importance of creating html pages rich with keywords from your forum, for SEO. DSoing that, you need to tie your webpages to your forum design-wise, as well, correct?

With that in mind, I've begun coding very simple webpage templates using tables, altho one does have some css for the design and colors only.

I'm moving into the area of designing coordinating forum skins and webpage graphics to tie website and forum together.

Here's one example:

Another example:

School Days forum design

I'm not really asking for a critique on the designs.
This is more about discussing the importance of a well-put-together website. Making it both SEO efficient, as well as organized, and aesthetically pleasing.

Opinions?

As you're not after critique, I will not provide one here.

My forté is not really in search engine optimisation at all, but the importance of having a well thought out site (if your forum integrates with one) goes far further than SEO.

The thing I always go on about is relevant content, useability and other related items - and one crucial aspect of usability, if you run a forum, is to keep the feel and structure of the forum the same as the one employed on it's root pages.

Both designs you've presented above integrate brilliantly with the themes and styles employed on the forum, though they are, as you say, very simple.

Bravo!

Regards
