| Member Enthusiast | Do you click the ads on this site? I do. I open up tons of them in the background while I'm browsing. It hardly takes any though and it helps support the site, so why not.

![]() | I guess this thread isn’t in danger of being against any TOS since it’s just a question. I read the TOS for our sponsors after my brother Danny sent the documentation to me and they don’t say anything about asking members to specifically click on the ads. I on the other hand find the double underlined text links to be very useful. Not like ads on other sites.

![]() ![]() | You never know when you'll find something unexpectedly useful though. I'm the queen of impulse buying - and to impulse buy, you gotta shop. Here's how you do it... hey, guys, we've hooked up with some advertisers that offer pretty cool products. Do us and yourself a favor and click on the ads to check them out. We get some support - and you just might find that perfect little doohickey you never knew existed but just gotta have.

| Junior Member Newb | I feel that this forum should go in for the CPM model of ad-revenue generation where they will get paid on per-1000-impressions-basis. That'll work out for posters too who won't feel obliged to click on ads. Any thoughts?

If you see an ad that you want to click on and check out what the site its pointing to has to offer, feel free to click on it. We would never want any member to feel any pressure or obligation. As for CPM, I was and am still under the impression that CPM was popular a ways back, but since times have changed, most CPM affiliate programs are running pop-up and pop-under ads. I despise popup ads. The more popular, fastclick.com, i think, only pays on the first three banner impressions. IMO affiliate programs are rarely ever fair at all. They pay less than pennies. The ads we have up at this point are basically more of a placeholder for when our research takes us to a better alternative. If you have any suggestions please feel free to shoot us a link or two. I'd love to check it out for myself.

| Administrator Enthusiast | I personally do not click on ads of any shape or form It's not through not wanting to support the site that ads are displayed on - I just feel that in a large number of cases, ads are shown that just aren't relevant to what I want at the time. As for fastclick - there are some sites I use that deploy fastclick flash ads - and the sound on an ad is infuriating - thy are forever blocked in my hosts file. As with anything else - ads have their place, but when they detract fronm a users' experience on your site - it's time to take them off. I'd be far more likely to donate to a site I use regularly than click on an ad. Regards

![]() | I can say that I will click if it is something interesting to me. I also try support forums or sites that are of a good source. I do not just start clicking away though on them. I don't want to get the site banned. Also I think donations (as mentioned above) is a great way to help support a forum. So overall yes I click on ads, but because I am interested in what the ad is advertising. I support the forum by trying to give help back to other members. |

| Member Enthusiast | I rarely feel obligated to click on ads, but I will if the site has helped me in any way, i.e. info, tips, etc. I feel that it's only right to help the forum owner out. If he/she were on my site, if course I would hope that they would do the same. But I don't just click on any old ad either. If the ad it relevant and something I'm interested in, then yeah, I want to take a peek and see if it's something I could use. What I really don't like is adsense ads on a site that is advertising other sites that carry the same info. In other words, I have a webdesign site. Do I want adsense advertising other webdesingers on my site? heck no! |
